Assignment 4 - Digital Video Production
For this assignment, I was able to work with Jeremy (a local ETAD'er) in order to create our video. I've made several large scale videos for different schools but I've never had the chance to make one that focusses on an instructional purpose. Previous to this, my efforts have always been directed towards a 'showcase' style which, I've now discovered, requires a very different approach towards planning and filming.
We chose to focus on providing an instructional video on littleBits, a electronic and circuit building system, which would support my final project. Jeremy, being the great guy that he is, went along with the idea and has asked if he can also use this content in his final website design.
We attempted to balance fun with clear instruction by including stop motion animation at the beginning. We kept our faces out of the picture to ensure a focus on the process being demonstrated. We also kept various angles and transitions to a minimum to ensure the viewer was distracted by our choices.
